Politics and Social Justice
Since covering the presidential election in 2016, I’ve consistently written about politics, government affairs, and public policy on the local, state, and federal levels.
I reported on-the-ground during the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the presidential debate in 2020. In 2016, I was Vice President Joe Biden’s press pool print reporter for his visit to Cleveland.
I’ve interviewed presidential candidates, senators and congressional representatives, governors, statewide elected officials, mayors, city council members, and various political party operatives and organizers.
My impactful reporting has influenced lawmakers and legislation including a ban on proposed fracking, police reform, and improved election systems.
With my background as a community organizer, I’ve produced insightful journalism about social justice and political movements.
